Vox Super Foundation Bass Restoration
A Vox Super Foundation Bass solid state amplifier needing a full restore. This came across the bench with a few faults, one on the Bass channel and a couple of the switches needed some attention. But on further inspection inside, reveals some major problems. The bias boards in the power amp section were badly burned and one of them had a hole were one of the resistors had burned through it. Both bias boards needed replacing. There was also some dodgy work done on the boards.
The Pre-Amp Section
In the pre-amp section, all the Electrolytic capacitors had been changed. They had been changed Radial capacitors instead of Axial.We changed them back to Axial caps using Vishay capacitors.
